Be As Brutal As You like, This is just a little Suggestion. Maybe Different Scope, or Gun attatchments you get when you get enough kills. Kind of like an achievement type of deal. Like small little scopes for different guns, or flashlights for dark maps. Maybe different barrel options. Just a Suggestion. :D wut ya Think? ;)

The achievement idea rubs me the wrong way. A bit to XBox-ey for me.

The flashlight is a good idea, but would require a whole new lighting engine to do well. Maybe night vision goggles? (Complete with regular light being blinding, of course)

Maybe new grenades. Flashbangs that blind anyone looking at them for a few seconds, or frag grenades with a small radius that throw off shrapnel.

It'd have to be balanced well, but it'd be interesting.

If it weren't for how unbalancing it would be, a grenade launcher attachment for the autos would be cool. Perhaps it could compromise your gun's accuracy or something. Dunno.

    Meh.

I can't promise to think but I almost certainly can promise not to be rude when I reply to someone else's post.

Jeez, sorry! It was a joke. :(
  3. In Topic: I need a name

    Posted 2 Nov 2009

I have a fascination with the word "dude". It's an interesting word primarily because it can be used in a completely non-verbal way, where the tone gives it its meaning.

I'll spare you the lecture on my theories behind why this is.

Because of that interest, I used to go by "Dude the Mighty". It's kinda cheesy, I think, but it was good enough at the time.

Then, when I started to play AssaultCube, I figured that it was kind of a silly name, so I decided to use a variation of it.

There was an episode of Recess where there was a substitute teacher named Mr. Dudekoff, who was then called "The Dude", and ultimately wound up "Mr. Dude".

(I loved that cartoon. Wish Disney still made shows like that... :()

Thinking back to that episode, I liked what that character was all about. Fun with a dose of intellect. With that, I decided on Mr. Dude.

And... Well, that's pretty much it.

    Peace,
    Mr. Dude

Calling people hackers doesn't result in more kills...unless you bore them to death and they can't be bothered to aim anymore. Happened to me once.

    [sarcasm]
You obviously don't understand what he's talking about.
It's something the dev team put in, I talked to Tarcquin about it! ;)
Please think before you be stupid. :-P

  5. In Topic: Want to start a clan

    "... came in under [newb]BLOODBOMB ..."

Err... To defend a teammate, our own clan has a guy named BLOODBOMB. The behavior you described is very unlike him, though.

I know my friend well enough to know that this isn't him.

This was a different guy, ours wouldn't act like that. I think this guy's just trying to cause trouble. (The [newb] tag is what makes me think it's intentional, but it could be a coincidence for all I know)

Please be aware that [newb] has a member named BLOODBOMB whose conduct is nothing like what was described, and that if a player with that name joins, I ask that you please observe his behavior before deciding that he's the same person. If he keeps acting up, I'd like to hear about it so that I can let our admins know about this.

I'll be on the watch for this fellow, too. I don't like people who try to make my friends look bad.

    Peace,
    Mr. Dude
