I was considering adding 4 more gigs of system memory (would this make any notable differences for gameplay or faster map loads) and also purchasing a decent sound card (I'm currently using the on board sound ... =|)
Does anyone have any recommendations as to how I can make this system brutally awesome?

I don't understand why no one takes the time and care to read through (the admittedly bare and unpretty) docs for Alsa and experiment enough to get it right without relying on some buggy sound daemon. :/

Tweak that a bit and you get the best game mode ever: Bombing Run
Damn shame it was for such a nerfed game. Damn shame we probably can't implement it due to copyright.
