It is a problem with your keyboard.
Unfortunately, keyboards weren't designed with gaming in mind. Instead of using dedicated connections for each key, keys are grouped into an array of clusters. This seriously simplifies the design and cost of producing the keyboard at the expense of not recognizing simultaneous keystrokes from the from some groups of keys. It is done in such a way that the modifier keys (ctrl, alt, shift) can always be pressed with any other key (but often not with 2 other keys). I've even heard of some people being forced to use ESDF in place of WASD for motion because their keyboards don't accept multiple presses of the WASD keys.
You may find that using ESDF solves your jumping issue, it's probably worth a shot. Otherwise, you'll want a new keyboard. I'm a big fan of the Saitek Eclipse II ( http://www.newegg.co...5-001-_-Product ) but you may like to get a more gaming oriented keyboard like a Logitech G15 or RAZER Lycosa. They are designed specifically to solve this issue for most gaming keystroke combinations (especially with WASD).

sadly i play with my left hand on the mouse so i grought the keyboard so i could powerslide and turn. turns out its only for the keys around the wasd cluster :<
but as for the jumping i find having right click as jump is allot easier.

I prefer the keys from my laptop with the short way you have to press them and how fast they jump back.
most "gaming-keyboards" don't feel right for me they try always curious things.

A keyboard designed to take some hammering, with programmable keys, no clustering, and a few extra mappable buttons perhaps. I use the iMac aluminium keyboard and the letters W,A,S,D and SHIFT are totally illegible now.
