Hey guyz,

I haven't seen any problem like mine so far, so have to make a new topic

Ok, here we go:
When i want to get out of urban terror, i press Command + Tab
Urban Terror goes into my dock, and i can work on my desktop, or whatever i'm working on.

When i want to get back to the game: the map reloads, when it's done reloading, i'm back on the place i used to be be4 i pressed command + Tab
(I know, the reloading problem isn't solvable (yet))

So i thought, when i know i'm going to switch between ioUrbanTerror and my desktop, i'll just play in a window.

But: here it comes:
When i choose: Fullscreen "0"
and i start urban terror.... My window get's white and stays white.

As soon as i get the window of: Command + Alt + Escape (making it possible to Force Quit) i can use the little window as a brush.

PS: Switching from fullscreen to window ingame doesn't work as well


My Question: How do i get a working windowed gameplay of urban terror?

Yo X-Ray!

I have a mac too, and I never got a problem like this before. I would suggest changing your desktop background to something other than black, I used to have some weird game stuff going on when I had a completely black desktop background. If that doesn't help, then I'm at a loss.

I tryed a standart Mac-background. cyan.
But unfortunately... it didn't work.

I know... it's a very strange problem, never heard anyone before about it, lol.

Ow, thanks! .... I guess...
it's eh... well, when i change my config to fullscreen "0" i still get the same white screen.
when i change fullscreen off while in the game, it reloads the map, but i still can't see anything (same white screen)
So erhm... doesn't allow windowed mode yet (even not without reloading).

But thanks for answering anyway!

:O dude I <3 you! I just accepted that macs had to deal with this, I've been playing for so long with this problem.
If this works for me I'd appreciate it so much

I'm pretty sure that's windows only since its never done anything on either of my macs..

type "/exec window" in console

and if you wanna switch back (/exec full):

also what version of OS X are you using?

the game is going to load the map regardless to the way macs run fullscreen games or something i forgot the full explanation but it has to do with the fact that alt tabbing invokes a vid_restart, though technically there should be a way around it b/c q3 doesn't reload when i alt tab.

I have the same kind of problem but usually urt starts after about a minute or less with the white screen..

win_fastmodechange 1 <--this is for ppl using windows only as far as I know and will do nothing for us mac users.

Ive been trying to figure out what causes this as I have experienced it for a while now, the only thing that i found affects it is the resolution you are using for urt.. but that only makes the white screen last for less/more time. I started, starting/closing urt in fullscreen and changing to windowed before joining any servers, then changing back to full before closing terror..

that command starts with win for a reason. doesnt do anything on macs. because of the fact that... i forget the process name, window something, isn't displaying what needs to be displayed on the screen, you're basically forcing it to. do you have a terrible graphics card/amount of RAM? have you recently done any graphics drivers updates?
if so, restore to the previous version
if not, upgrade

Hmm.... No, i do not have a terrible graphics card.

I've got 2 cards of 1 gig DDR2 SDRAM

I do have snow leopard, but when i started playing this game, i just had normal leopard.
Even at first i had this problem, i've never played in a windowed gameplay, since it has never been possible for me.

Problem not solved.... yet

I have the same issue on my MacBook. I put it in windowed mode and now when I start it up, it's only grey for a few seconds, then a frozen menu appears, and my cursor disappears unless I Command+Tab. I've dragged the folder to the trash, deleted it, and then re-downloaded the folder, and the same thing happens. Is there a way to reset the settings, whether it be terminal commands or deleting/modifying hidden files in odd directories?
