might want to reword the title a bit... i'm guessing you are referring to the berlin wall... well congrats to germany for coming thru a difficult time without any long lasting effects (apart from the paranoia)
the title may be hard for some americans (and others) to take since they reverse their order of month and day, meaning they see that as 11th september, which was a day that isn't going to be celebrated due to something that happened just over 8 years ago.
you may well be forgiven for this faux pas, but just be careful to whom you use the term '9.11' with.

Ah, it wouldn't be a "9/11 or 11/9" debate without pointing out that it is logical to use "DAY/MONTH/YEAR", with the lowest period of time first.
