Custom funstuff in a server
how to avoid displaying?

Hi,
From time to time some players with awful custom funstuffs enter in our server. I would like to avoid these players to play wearing "handmade taylored" funstuffs because some of them are very annoying and disturb the game.
I just would like to allow standard funstuff, nothing more.
How can I do that?
tnx.

What Obscure politely didn't say is that you are your own worst enemy. You put all that crap on your own server by loading up maps that you knew nothing about. Those maps contained all the fun stuff you detest and don't want. Remove the maps and you'llremove the fun stuff you don't like.

Thanks, I understood that but not completely. I saw people using strange funstuff on casa, do you means that if a map in q3ut4 directory includes some funstuffs they can be used on all the other maps?
I would like to avoid to delete all the non standard maps. Is it possible to check which maps contains the funstuffs and eventually remove them?

*.pk3 are just regular *.zip files, so you can extract all of them and look for the models/players/funstuff dirctory.
What I am not sure now: if a Clients sends the server the code for a specific funstuff and the server does not have the map where this funstuff is actually included, but the player has the map, it's just a player inconvenience, no?

You could go through all the maps and delete the funstuff and repackage them using a suffix.
For example.
ut4_midnight_nofun.pk3
ut4_guerilla_nofun.pk3
etc.
It does mean anyone playing on your server would have to download those maps again. But you wouldnt have the funstuff in them so you wouldnt see it.
Or you could delete the maps.

Don't do that. You don't have permission to hack other people's pk3's up and redistribute them.
IMO, just wait for 4.2. It's got to have a funstuff toggle. I have no knowledge that it does have one but it would be crazy not to so I assume it will.

Which i guess leaves you with deleting them.
Although i have another idea that you could maybe run locally, on your server, that may disable some funstuff, basically by extracting the models and then changing them, so it causes a conflict, which may disable them as everyone else will lack the same model. But tbh i have no idea if it would work, also no idea if it would work on built in funstuff.

Ahh but all he has to do is basically add the hack to his own server. For funstuff to work (as i know at present), both the server and the client need the same models. If the server doesnt have the same models then the funstuff may possibly not work either as the hashes wont match.
So basically this, if it works, is a server side only hack. Clients dont have to do anything or install anything or download anything. They just play, but the funstuff wont work, not that most people will notice.
