This is a response to Ferguson I had built in the speed mapping comp this year.

My first custom texture map. Textures are far to clean but will create a basis for my texture collection covering the basics. I have used a few vehicle models from the zpaks (urban terror base .pk3s). There is a bad engine sound down one of the streets, version 3 Ill upgrade it, but Im seeing how quickly I can produce a map as my last project took around 6 months.

TDM, CTF and FFA.

Is a city scape, the streets are wide and long, not much cover. At a glance it would seem sr8s prefered, but I have found any machine gun performs well. Smoke nades also for extra cover and team work. Lots of places to get lost or hide with flags.

Before you release your map you need to post at least or about (Idk that anymore) 3 screenshots.

hey heres a question, when i place the file in my maps folder it dosent show up in game when i wanna start server, how do i slove this

that's cos the mappers didnt include a proper .arena file.
just make sure you have a rotation text, look at server support forum, you will magically find answers there.

open console (shift+esc) typ /map ut4_ferguson2.pk3 to load it.

Soz but i hate that kind of maps just played it. and it realy suck nothing specails only the models make look it nice it's a really non detail map with a few brushes and lags.

Oh you mean like your maps. Your maps are shit.

I like the layout of this one. No lags for me. Just need more details. =)

I hate to be the one telling you this, but your talking about your style of maps too.

ALSO, not to mention he did this in 7 days(as it was a non-official speed map) not a month or however you spend on yours.

@sneaks, I wanted to be in the contest so bad I emailed Tub and asked him to host it again, yet i pulled out. Good job on you for at least doing a map, and you pulled of quite a nice layout too. however seeming its your first/second map im not going to break your neck on detail you've probably realized this :P

LOAD; I start a LAN server on any map, then in game hit the tidle button [ ~ ] /callvote nextmap ut4_ferguson2 ---> then /callvote cycle

haha, oh yeah i gotta remember to mention Im a noob mapper, Ill learn to create .arena files, ty for the suggestion, will have one in next release

Make sure the map is in your q3ut4 folder [inside iourbanterror] not the maps folder, then it should load

ty for the feedback Fleuv but i dont know how such an undeatailed map would lag. Is the first time I really used hint brushes which I figured was over kill being undetailed, but I agree more details are needed. Im working on layout at the moment as I have played many high detailed maps with poor layout which is a shame. I was thinking the models where over used, but it was easy and yeah they are great. I need to learn to make my own. Next release will have more building details and better textures too, if you dont like my maps I like to know and you told me why, ty. Ill work on it

ty Satiable, u13, next release is on the way with more buildings carried over from ferguson1 and better textures

I wasnt counting del, but I think it was done in around 7 days, including making all the textures from scratch on my computer (no cameras). At first I was going for a MSPaint cartoon hand draw style (see the details of case at red flag for lols) but started to use better programs for editing the images

Im sure there is only one place you can climb a roof, this is it. Looking down into The tea factory carpark, the Blue flag zone. This roof top is slippery, you will fall off eventually, as you cant stand still makes it difficult to snipe

Snafu Ave/ snipers alley, I have given snipers a prime side street. The idea being getting them off the main streets and keeping them in the back alley as much as possible. Some cover for runners. Is the best way out of Blue flag zone, a down hill run, but is also the long way
