Exactly. His suggestions are to deviate UrT from the action game stereotype (clips, Deagles, noscoping, etc), mostly by correcting misused terminology and misconceptions found in popular FPS games like CoD.

Not sure what's so funny. The OP has some valid points. Not so much about the prototype weapons (such as the SR8 and apparently the DE?), but about the terminology. It would take all of about 30 seconds to change the menu files to have the proper terms for items. Night vision goggles. Suppressor. Magazines. Shells. Clips.

Well a suppressor and silencer is more or less the same thing. You could add the word flash in front of suppressor and have something totally different which is not that bad of an idea.

What is funny is how a term of the use can mean something different depending on what part of the world they are playing the game.

The use of the term suppressor is more generally used in Europe and the term silencer is more North American.

The term football for example could mean something totally different and how well would my suggestion be received on a Manchester United fan site that I insist that they change the name to soccer?

As for things like removing the DE the whole point of UrT is a Hollywood type FPS. That’s our tag line.

As for making the simple changes it’s not that simple. Granted it could only take 30 seconds to make the change but could take months to actually decide to make it in the first place. Then there are the bandwidth costs of getting the new updates out to the servers who generally don’t favor the idea of updating their servers just for something cosmetic.

Then there is the other side of the coin to deal with. Changing something does not mean it’s fixed and I’m sure that there will be more than one or two who will complain about the changing of a term based on what is politically correct.

It’s all funny because the OP decided for their first post that they would walk into an Elvis Presley fan club and stating that he/she would enjoy his music a lot more if he would just stop gyrating his hips so much.

Um just include the updated ui files with 4.2. You guys decided to go this whole new download route with 4.x, so people have to download a 700mb+ file anyway, might as well put some cosmetic improvements in.

If someone is a European or just plain non-North American, and they say football, everyone knows they're referring to soccer/football. If an American or Canadian says football, they're referring to American Football. I believe soccer is actually called association football, so if you want to avoid confusion, call it that. Not confusing at all imo.

Tattoos or Holsters, ask almost any UrT player and you'll get Tattoos, you see tats more than you do the holsters.

Clips, magazines, same thing, no one really cares. The only impact that would have is on the weapon selection screen and when you type $clips.

Everybody loves the SR8, probably one of the most recognized UrT weapons. I don't want some ordinary Benelli, I WANT ME SR8. We are already getting a Benelli anyway. Yum.

And the DE, it's one of the most cliche weapons, up there with the AK47. And we still love it. People ask which pistol, the answer is either 'Yea m8, i uze teh DE' or 'Yea m8 i uz teh Retta'; not "Yea m8, I uze teh Remington .45 ACP M1911'.

Hmmm in what respect mate, although soem of us may not have the post count that you do does not mean we have played thegame for any less time it is jsut that some of us are not very active in the forums !!!

At the end of the day I just dont understand why people feel the neccesity to nit pick at minor things in the game ! things that dont effect gameplay etc and then start flaming the dev's for doing a below par job in respect to this when it doesn't matter....

If you want a realistic game go for a game that doesn't have fun over realism as the fecking tag line....
