Damn. I thought my map auto-download problem was a pain in the arse. I made the mistake of installing snow leopard and am now upgraded all the way to 10.6.1 and urban terror is DEAD on my machine. I have done everything i can think of short of reinstalling the operating system to be able to play. I am also experiencing soft crashes all over the place - multiple applications from what I can tell. I found what appears to be a good fix for the crash problem - but Urban Terror WILL STILL NOT boot up in Snow Leopard (10.6.1) (and I have already sacrificed 12 virgins to the UT gods to no avail... Given, they were virgin shrimp - but there are no details as to what kind of virgins to sacrifice and how to do so - I'm happy with their sacrifice as well as the sauce and accompanying noodles - the gods should be too.)

Anyone have any thoughts?

It does sound like something is wrong with your machine. UrT still works fine on my Snow Leopard also. Moreover, I haven't heard that many reports of multiple apps failing under Snow Leopard. I assume you are talking about third party apps, though, not the ones that came with your Leopard install. Even among my third party apps, many were updated to be Snow Leopard compatible very quickly.

As I posted on Dailynade it works for me and it works even better than on Leopard. Also the users commented that UrT works and works better than 10.5 so I'm assuming that something's wrong with your machine.

Well it worked in the morning on Leopard BEFORE I installed Snow Leopard so it would follow that it would work in the afternoon after I completed the upgrade. I think I need to nuke the prefs for it but I cannot find them for some reason and I cannot find an article on here saying where they are on the Mac.

Anyone want to point me at them?

I have a problem where in windowed mode all I get is a frozen white screen. I do get audio just fine, however, but I occasionally hear the "What the ****, over?" sound when I try to blindly find the options area. No matter what I do, it refuses to let me do anything in the windowed mode. Could that be something wrong with the game?

AFAIK there's no prefs file for urt
Have you tried repair permission with disk utility after install/upgrade?
If permissions are wrong then <yourname>/Library/Application Support/Quake3/q3ut4/ will not be created on first launch of the game and this is where you find q3config.cfg

Also try using a 3rd party utility (DiskWarrior) to fix directory
