master.urbanterror.net is currently down.  Lucky for you, Urban Terror has two!  To access the second:

* Open console (usually by pressing ~)
* Type /cl_master master2.urbanterror.net

Try using the in-game browser again.  If it still doesn't work, your version of ioUrT has a bug (just like mine).  So, you can either try to find one without the bug, or you can edit a file (Win, Mac, *nix) to force a little voodoo ;-)

The file you need to edit depends on your operating system:
* Windows - C:Windowssystem32driversetchosts
* Mac/*nix - /etc/hosts

At the end of the file add:
64.62.148.86    master.urbanterror.net


Now you should be good to go.

Also, you can always use GameTracker.  You'll have to connect from the console using /connect IP:PORT.

when ever i get this error (which is rarely) i just exit urban terror right click > run as administrator = problem solved works every time for me

Delete servercache.dat.
