This is great news. Now I will be able to finally have reliable gameplay when working off the stress, in the future of course so I hope.

I doubt this would stop some people from accusations though. I hope this AC is updated very often, well worth it! 8)

notoriety level won't take off on public servers; I'm surprised this isn't clear by the creators of this. this can only work on a niche of old school players that could just use password in the first place. most pubs work on being pubs, not using trusted players. theoretically it works, practically it's empty servers and people would want to have that off.

what game needs is a way to take away the 95% of public cheats mentioned above by a Dev. the rest is not taking off (passport notorieties etc.).

Thanks for publishing the name of all the hacks available for UrT. Now every newbie can google them and use them till the anticheat will be released ..  :x

I think noobs can also search via google on aimbots, which will results aimbots.net.... strange people on that site, they really enjoy playing with cheats somehow.... so strange to understand what is fun about that. But do, read some of those threads, just dont become tempted to post on their forum, i think they'll flame you harder then.... well just really hard :D

We could of course all sync our watches, create accounts and spam the forum.... :D Like a legit DOS attack :D

I know a solution that works temporarily. Start spreading the notion that hackers = noobs. By convincing everyone that hacking = noobness (which it is) it won't be a good idea to do it.

For the people who just use cheats, have no programming background, yes quite sad.

On the other hand, the people who make them maybe just like to hack software. Fun can be had in doing so. For some it may be breaking into so called secure computers, others it may involve breaking encryption on dvds, others may like creating bypasses on copyrighted software, and some like making games software do things it probably shouldnt do. But this group is quite a small minority among the internet population. A lot of them dont even use what they create online, as the thrill isnt the using of the software, its the creation of it (and maybe the chaos it causes afterwards).

they basically like to cheat, simple as that.

a brilliant programmer can create a revolutionary AI program, he doesn't have to break into compiled quake3.

I see cheaters in the same view as i would do a sport. When you have a CW you want to know that the game is fair. Your skill against theirs. While people dont wish to believe it, i'm sure quite a large amount of people are hacking in leagues right now. Good luck trying to catch them. But lets be frank here, some people want to win at any cost. When a new clan starts up, with unknown people "supposidly" and whipes the floor with well know clans, you begin to wonder just how the hell that works.

You cant trust anyone. I know that sounds trite, but its true. It is a proven fact people have a set of "E-Morols" which are separate from how they act and what they are willing to do in real life. Ask someone if they have ever stolen something. Most people would say never. Ask that same person, you watched the latest *insert your fav TV show here* on megavideo or downloaded it. Oh yeah definitely.

So while someone wont cheat at poker with there friends, they will use game cheats to beat them online. The psychology of all this is fascinating.

it's not just about fairness (in a league with prizes) but it's about smooth gameplay to me. I play in pubs and I enjoy it a lot, I don't like fierce competition and rigid teams (being part of). but in a good public game you want to play against players of skill, not some nabs that can see through walls and can't jump for nothing or aim or use their brain. it feels wrong and not enjoyable.

well, if it's 1 or 2 and you make fun of it may be ok but usually it's a disturbance.

Your absolutely right. The same can be said for legit players being labeled as cheaters. Hopefully this will be 'justice' everyone wants in a game and weed out those intending to pollute this game.

I've always considered using cheats like aimbots and wallhacks to be a form of trolling. For them, the fun isn't in being virtually invincible--it's more about pissing off everyone else in the server. *That's* where they get their kicks.
