Playing as yourself may get you some leeway for when you do stupid things while drunk, ie, teamkills, bad language and removal of warnings.
Im not against aliasing, but id rather play as me for the most part. The only time i alias much is when jumping.
There was a point to this post...but i just cant work out what it was supposed to be. :P

I just thought that to do that one would need to lock nicknames for a period.
Come to think of it locking would be required anyway; no point changing nicknames on the web all the time right?

It would be very useful on match mode, as it would prevent fake nickers, and it would be good for some community-based public servers.
I don't think there will be a need for this Dems. Since the refs/admins should be able to find the players passport account in server logs or rcon status. I don't even think the scoreboard would have enough 'real estate' to display nick and passport name without it becoming a clutch.
Also the point of the "nickname" feature is that you cannot fake nick as someone else whoms nick is reserved.

In fact it's already a nickname here.

But, of course, you'd need the agreement of the guy.
And, if you register several passport accounts, the passport system wont prevent the multiclanning, forbidden in competitions.
So, it will depend on how the multi-account will be allowed or not and what the protections against this will be.

It's probably wise of anyone whome has more than one account to come forward. It is definatly not allowed, and you may have your account disabled if you dont. Please don't say i didnt warn you all :D
Tizz it should not be so much of a problem, I won't go into details but we have most bases covered :P.

indeed, but just because having passport and AC doesn't mean we will abandon all the current methods we uses (to try) to identify someone and cheat.

That is in direct violation of the TOS.

Of course not. We'll just keep at it much as we normally do.

Suppose I want to alert the community to something, but I don't want to do it under my main name because I have reason to fear a backlash? Whistleblowers should be empowered, not thwarted. TOS be damned.

Sorry, but this is what PM and email to staff is for. In my own opinion people who wish to remain annonamus either fall into the following 2 catagories.
1. Fear for there saftey for some reason.
2. Have something to hide.
Sorry but we will aid Server Admins to provide a (identity) of sorts for them to ban. If they want you ban, they can ban you.
